Because destructive work behaviors reduce productivity and profitability of organizations, the study of the factors affecting malicious or destructive work behaviors attracted the attention of many researchers. The purpose of this study was to determine the moderating role of transformational leadership in the relation between perceived moral temperament and destructive work behaviors. The statistical population of this research included the staff members of the Cultural and Artistic Organization of Tehran Municipality. Using random sampling method and Morgan table, 207 individuals were selected as a statistical sample of the study. The data were collected through Spector et al.'s (2006) Destructive Work Behaviors questionnaire, Bass and Avlivo's (1990) Transformation Leadership, and Victor and Cullen's (1988) Moral Temperament Questionnaire. The face validity and construct validity of the questionnaires were examined. Also, Cronbach's alpha was calculated for ensuring the reliability. In addition, the KMO test was used to measure the adequacy of the data. Structural equation modeling was employed to analyze the data and test the research hypotheses using Amos software and SPSS software. Findings of the research showed that moral temperament of care and moral temperament of professionalism had a significant negative effect on destructive work behaviors and the instrumental moral temperament had a significant positive effect on destructive work behaviors, but independent moral temperament and regulatory moral temperament did not have a significant effect on destructive work behaviors in a predicted way. Also, transformational leadership can moderate the relationship between care, regulatory, instrumental, professionalism and independent moral temperaments and destructive work behaviors.
