Organizational forgetting is the ability to eliminate obsolete and inefficient knowledge and is an important part of the dynamics of knowledge in organizations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of organizational forgetting and effective factors on human resource productivity through empowerment mediation among employees of governmental banks in Semnan. In this study, three hypotheses were examined. The statistical population of this study includes all 292 employees of governmental banks in Semnan city. The research sample consisted of 170 employees who were selected by stratified random sampling method using Morgan table. The research methodology was descriptive-survey and correlational. In order to collect the data, Salavati et al.'s Organizational Forgetting Questionnaire and Spritzer's Standard Empowerment Questionnaire and Hersey and Goldsmith's Standard Questionnaire of Factors Affecting Human Resources Productivity were employed. In order to analyze the data, a structural equation model has been used. The results of this study showed that organizational forgetting has a significant relationship with the factors affecting the productivity of human resource. This relationship, especially when the empowerment mediator variable enters the equation, is more robust. In other words, empowerment can increase the intensity of the relationship between organizational forgetting and factors affecting the productivity of human resource.
