In today's competitive world, the only sustainable competitive advantage of any organization is its people and their role in the success of the organization that is possible through empowerment, quality of working life and commitment of the staff members. The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of employees' empowerment in the relationship between quality of work life and their organizational commitment. This study is of an applied research and descriptive-correlation type. The statistical population of the study included 80 Police+10 centers' staff members in South Khorasan. The sample size was determined as 66 individuals using Morgan Table. Finally, 72 copies of questionnaires were collected. The data were collected through 3questionnaires in the study: Walton's QWL (1973), Organizational Allen and Meyer's Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (1990), and Spreitzer's Employees Empowerment Questionnaire (1996). Content validity was employed to measure the validity of the research tools. Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was used to determine the reliability of the questionnaire. For data analysis, multiple regression analysis and structural equation modeling were employed. The results indicated that there is a significant relationship between quality of work life and organizational commitment. But there was doubt about mediating role of employees' empowerment. Finally main hypothesis was under question. While employees' empowerment does not have a direct impact on organizational commitment therefore it cannot indirectly affect organizational commitment. In other words, if the qualities of working life are not available, though employees are competent or empowered, it cannot be possible to promote their organizational commitment.
