the present study aimed at investigating the relationship between human communications and organizational trust in Tehran Metropolitan Police Headquarter preventive police personnel and the main question of the study has been formulated in this vein. The statistical population of the study included all Tehran Metropolitan Police Headquarter preventive police personnel. The sample size was estimated as 360 individuals using Cochran formula. In terms of its objectives, this study is of an applied research type; and in terms of its data collection procedures it is considered as a descriptive-survey study. In order to measure the variables of human communications, Moqimi's (2010) questionnaire, which consisted of verbal communication and nonverbal communication, was employed. For measuring the employees' trust, the expressivity questionnaire (Clark and Peine, 1997), which consists of truthfulness, benevolence, competency, and predictability, was used. Validity of the questionnaire was also confirmed. The total reliability of the questionnaire was calculated by Cronbach's alpha (α=.811). For data analysis, inferential statistics, including Kolmogrov-Smirnov test and Pearson correlation were employed.
The findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between human communications and organizational trust. There is also a relationship between human communications and various dimensions of organizational trust (truthfulness, benevolence, and competency. There is no relationship between human communication and predictability.
